Frequently asked questions
Can I use Editorial even if I know nothing about PDF/X or ePub?
Yes. You don't need to know what they mean. Presswork picks the correct technical settings based on the destination you choose: Amazon, Kindle, InDesign, or Final Draft. You choose where you want to go, Presswork gets you there.
Will my eBook be rejected by Kindle?
The built-in validator checks the file before you upload. If there's a compatibility issue, it flags it with a plain-language explanation. In the vast majority of cases the file passes on the first try.
Does the digital signature actually have legal value?
Yes. The RFC 3161 Timestamp is an international standard recognized in courts worldwide. It proves, beyond dispute, that your text existed in that exact form on that exact date. It's the strongest protection available outside a notary's office.
Can I import a screenplay I already wrote in Word?
Yes. Presswork imports Word files and converts them to Fountain format, automatically recognizing the dramatic structure (scenes, dialogue, action lines). You don't lose the work you've already done.
If I'm a screenwriter, do I also need Studio Complete?
